At Platinum Dance Centre we encourage our students to fulfill their goals using Dancing as a means of Mind, Body and Soul enrichment.
We are dedicated and passionate to teach you and share our experience whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced dancer, and to bring more joy to everyday life through dancing.
Juan Alberto
This native Puerto Rican has been in Canada for the last 20 years. After a career as a dancer/choreographer, judge for dance competition for networks like Univision, Telemundo and Wapa, he moved to Toronto making it his home. From 1999 to 2004 Juan was a Canadian National Theater Arts/Showdance/Cabaret Champion.
Juan has danced in some of the most notable competitions around the globe including the Blackpool Dance Festival in England - the most prestigious competition in the world - where Juan and his partner at the time got the silver medal, which was a first time honour for Canadians. He is also a former runner up at world titles in the USA, Germany, France, Holland, China and Russia. In 2010 Juan won the National Rhythm Canadian Championship and more recently he has been an adjudicator at the Salsa Congress.
Dora Yaneva
Dora Yaneva is an elite dancer and an instructor. She holds the titles 5 times Canadian Showdance/Exhibition champion, world champion runner up and 5 times Blackpool Dance Festival finalist, the most prestigious dance competition in the world.
She began her dance career at the early age of 6 in her home country of Bulgaria. She moved to Canada where she continued her dancing career in Ballroom, Latin, Salsa as well as Cabaret/Exhibition. As a teacher, Dora trains from absolute beginners to competitive-level male, female and couples. As one of the top Canadian female dancers and Cabaret/Exhibition specialists, Dora Yaneva works with determination and strict dance etiquette in order to ensure the highest teaching quality and understanding for her students. Whether they compete as Pro-Am, Pro or Am, or are preparing for dance shows or social dance, Dora's students achieve top results with her guidance, professionalism, and expertise as a dancer.
